So you receive an email asking you to quote for a job, it comes from Acme Ltd. You've heard of YO2U.com where freelancers and contractors record their experiences with clients. You visit YO2U and search for Acme Ltd, there they are with 10 reviews and ratings. The predominant message is that they are a good company to work for but they consistently pay late and are not good at managing projects. Now this information could prove very useful when deciding the terms of your quotation, you may opt to prescribe stricter payment terms than normal and build in late payment provisions (e.g. interest) - also as they appear to be unskilled in project management you may decide to put more emphasis on the contract, specification and schedule than you normally would.
Obviously this could actually work in the client's favour should they have great reviews and ratings, you may be whipping out your discount calculator!
